Why This Site Exists
Oregon public records law, including ORS 192, gives the public broad access to many government records, but jail and custody information is split across offices. Sheriff Jef Van Arsdall's office operates the Benton County Jail and publishes the local Adult in Custody roster for pretrial and short-sentence custody. The Oregon Department of Corrections maintains separate tools for sentenced state custody, including Oregon Offender Search and VISOR. Federal BOP and ICE systems cover federal and immigration detention. This site organizes those different record paths, roster pages, facility details, visitation basics, and request steps so readers can tell which system fits the custody question.
What We Organize
Benton County has one local jail, but its inmate population can also involve contract beds in Polk County and Clatsop County. The content here is built around that local structure, not a generic jail directory.
- Help with Benton County jail inmate records, jail roster mugshots, and court records after a jail arrest.
- Facility pages for Benton County Jail, Polk County Jail contract housing, and Clatsop County Jail contract housing.
- Plain-language notes on the county roster, the 31-day release report, Oregon DOC searches, VISOR, BOP, and ICE lookup tools.
- Records-request context for booking records and booking photos, including Oregon booking-photo limits under ORS 133.870 and ORS 133.875.
Limits of This Site
Benton County Inmate Population is privately run. It is not part of Benton County, the Benton County Sheriff's Office, Benton County Jail, Oregon DOC, VISOR, BOP, ICE, any court, or any other government agency.
- We cannot release, hold, move, or transfer any adult in custody.
- We cannot post bond, schedule a jail visit, add money, or send mail for you.
- We cannot provide legal advice or tell you how to handle a criminal case.
- We cannot promise that every address, fee, phone number, roster entry, or rule is current.
Only the originating office can confirm current custody, charges, release status, booking records, or agency rules.
Search Partners
Some pages may include search tools supplied by third-party providers. Those providers control their own data, terms, pricing, signup steps, and search results. If a visitor follows a partner tool to a paid product, Benton County Inmate Population may receive a referral fee. That support helps keep the public reference pages available, but it does not give us control over a partner's records, billing, or results.
